$14.6 Million

Civil Science provided planning and design for this large scale environmental and design project for the North Dakota Department of Transportation as well as the City of Williston.  The project included the formulation of designs for improvements to the US-2 corridor as well as new intersections at 32nd Ave and 2nd Street.  The alternative designs focused on minimization of impacts to existing environmental resources as well as existing bridge structures over the Sand Creek.  Civil Science successfully led an alternative evaluation process, Management Presentation, and public/property owner meetings. Once the preferred alternative was selected, Civil Science provided design for 2 miles of US-2, near Williston, including installation of two signalized intersections, a large regional drainage system component, 3 new box culverts, and a tied project involving City of Williston utility upgrades. The project also involved intersection realignment evaluations and design, concrete pavement, superelevation corrections, corridor lighting, complex traffic control phasing, and right-of-way acquisition. Design process elements included a Documented CatEx, Wetland Delineation Report, Safety Review and Traffic Operations Study.
