Utah Transit Authority and Multiple Municipalities

$5 Million

Several of our design teams had the opportunity to complete active transportation projects in a very innovative project delivery format through a First/Last Mile TIGER Grant procured by the Utah Transit Authority. Civil Science was able to interact with representatives from multiple municipalities to develop full designs for concepts each city had submitted as part of the Grant program. Our designers have also developed an excellent working relationship with Granite Construction, the CMGC for the program. The UTA, Civil Science, Granite Construction, and Municipal Team have been very successful in utilizing the finite federal funds available for the program. Improvements to date include bike lane striping, ADA ramp reconstruction and new construction, multi-use path improvements, pedestrian crossing signals and associated improvements, bike share stations, sidewalk improvements, roadway improvements, and utility/storm drain improvements. Civil Science is currently working on pedestrian and bicycle bridge structures, multi-use path improvements requiring canal enclosures and pedestrian underpass structure modifications, multi-use path rail crossings, and more.
