This project reconstructed 8 miles of 1804 along with widening and intersection improvements. Full depth reclamation, sub grade preparation, new gravel, and asphalt was placed. Large vertical curve corrections involved excavating large amounts of fill underneath the roadway in excess of 20+ feet in depth. A unique challenge to this project was keeping two lanes of public traffic open while performing grading and base operations. Temporary roadways and widenings were built to accommodate traffic flow. At the end of the project over 850,000 CY or dirt was moved along with 420,000 tons of base material. Civil Science performed the construction management, inspection, surveying, and materials testing for this project.
