Transportation Design Lead – Utah

We are currently seeking a qualified Transportation Design Lead PE to join our Civil Science Team in Lehi, UT. This position can also be in Dickinson, ND or Williston, ND.
Overview
Civil Science is a full-service civil engineering firm established in 2002 through an employee buyout of a local firm which has been continuously providing consulting engineering services since 1978. Civil Science provides services through the expertise of highly qualified professional engineers, licensed surveyors, planners, and a support pool of technicians to a wide array of both public sector and private clientele in multiple states. Responsibilities:
- Responsible for modeling/creation of roadway design that adheres to federal and local specifications.
- Provide oversight of daily tasks for Designers and Technicians and the projects they are working on.
- Managing individual project tasks against project budgets and schedules
- Provide technical training and mentorship for junior team members – specifically technical modeling knowledge and adherence to design specifications
- Develop Technical Content for Business Development/Marketing Pursuits
- Serve as first line of Quality Control, and foster an environment where quality is paramount
- Involved in fostering existing and creating new client relationships
- The key to succeeding in this role will be your ability to coordinate staff efforts to ensure timely and cost-effective solutions to demanding project requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Current registration as a Professional Engineer in Utah or North Dakota or the ability to gain licensure within 6 months of hire
- A minimum of five years of experience supporting Civil Engineering design of roadway projects including geometric design, drainage, utility conflicts and coordination, right of way (ROW) design.
- At least 3 years of design and modeling related experience using Bentley Microstation Roadway Design software (OpenRoads, Inroads)
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with either Utah Department of Transportation or North Dakota Department of Transportation design process and specifications
- Proven technical leadership ability and communication skills to work effectively with other people at all levels
- Previous experience delivering final plan set and involvement with PS&E
