CAD Design Technician
Department: Engineer
Location: St. George, Utah
Civil Science is currently seeking a qualified CAD DESIGN TECHNICIAN in our St. George location to join our creative and energetic team. In this exciting position, you will work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and other project team members to design a variety of civil engineering projects. Project types include but are not limited to development/infrastructure, transportation, and municipal utilities. The ideal candidate for this position is someone that is excited to be self-directed and is eager to learn and grow his or her career.

Responsibilities:
- Use CAD software (such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, etc.) to produce precise 2D and 3D drawings, layouts, and plans based on engineering specifications and guidelines.
- Create detailed technical drawings, cross-sections, profiles, and construction documents for civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, utilities, and site development.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and other team members to understand project requirements, objectives, and constraints, and incorporate feedback into the design process.
- Incorporate survey data, topographical information, and other relevant data into design drawings to ensure accurate representation of project features and conditions.
- Review and verify accuracy of own work and that of peers, ensuring adherence to design standards, codes, and project requirements.
- Assist in making design revisions based on project changes, client feedback, and evolving requirements.
- Provide support to engineering teams by producing design documentation, calculations, and graphics for presentations.
- Stay updated with the latest CAD software advancements and design techniques and participate in professional development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree or Associates degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation
- CAD experience must be in civil engineering profession or related field
Preferred Requirements:
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Basic problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude toward learning and addressing challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, taking direction from senior engineers and contributing positively to team dynamics.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interpret and convey technical information effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately translate engineering concepts into visual representations.
