Our municipal roadway design team completed roadway widening along both sides of 200 North for ¾ of a mile, and signalized improvements at the skewed intersection of Angel Street and 200 North. 200 North is one of the region’s most important east/west corridors and a popular route for active transportation users. The design also included Angel Street widening north and south of the intersection. Solutions were developed to mitigate the storm drain/irrigation system capacity issues along the corridor and addressed flooding issues caused by old irrigation ditches and pipelines. Multiple utility upgrades and relocations were designed, including services and connections for a large residential development under design at the intersection. Civil Science staff provided topography survey and existing right-of-way research for over 20 properties, and completed property owner coordination and negotiation for right-of-way, appraisals, and acquisition for several developers and property owners along the corridor. Civil Science worked directly with Kaysville City Power to modify power poles in the intersection to accommodate the proposed signal. A private property parking area on the southwest corner of the intersection was modified to address widening impacts, and a commercial site plan was coordinated with a developer on the northwest corner of the intersection.
